Emergency Services
Disaster Action Team (DAT) Volunteers
There are current openings for Disaster Action Team (DAT) volunteers in Adams, Columbia, Crawford, Grant, Iowa, Lafayette, Juneau, Richland, Sauk counties. DAT volunteers respond to local small-scale disasters and provide direct assistance of food, clothing and shelter to clients affected by the disaster.
Dane County DAT positions are currently filled.
Disaster Responders (National incidents)
Provide direct assistance to individuals/communities affected by major disasters or work behind-the-scenes to support large scale disaster relief operations. We are recruiting volunteers who are willing to deploy on national disasters in the following areas:
Logistics: (facilities, procurement, transportation and supplies)
Mass Care: (sheltering, feeding, bulk distribution, and welfare information) Mental Health: (must have an active, unencumbered, unrestricted, independent, state license and a masters degree as a clinical social worker/psychologist, professional counselor, marriage & family therapist, school psychologist or psychiatrist. Health Services: (must be a licensed health professional such as RN, LPN/LVN, PA, MD, EMT or CAN)

Health & Safety
First Aid / CPR / AED Instructor
Train individuals in lifesaving skills. Requires mainly evening and Saturday commitment between 3 - 8 hours per class. Must complete Instructor training course prior to teaching.
Babysitting Instructor
Teach youth how to be safe babysitters. Requires mainly Saturday commitment for 8 hours. Must complete Instructor training course prior to teaching.
Compression-Only CPR Leaders
Train individuals on cutting edge CPR technique at community events and businesses. Will complete training course prior to giving presentations.
Logistics Support Volutneer
Community Development
Write public service announcements (PSA's), send press releases to media outlets, develop educational materials, and design promotional materials
Facilitate the chapter’s ability to implement the communications plan for increasing visibility of the Red Cross.
Fund & Resource Development
Help the Red Cross raise funds, research funding opportunities, and solicit in-kind donations.
Professional & Office Support
Youth Involvement & Education Internship
Computer Record Management/Data Entry Office Partner
Blood Services
Drivers - Crawford/Grant County area - Drive blood products between sites
Provide Support in Donor Rooms - Assist donors in registration.
Provide Support at Blood Drives - Assist donors in registration and guide through the process. Host a Blood Drive
Red Cross Clubs
UW-Madison Red Cross Club - Join other students in assisting with blood drives, fund raising and educating the public.
